Power Quality
Power quality is an electrical grid’s ability to supply pure and stable power supply. A perfect power supply is always available, is noise-free, and is always within voltage and frequency tolerances. Without proper power, an electrical device may malfunction, fail prematurely or fail to operate in time.
Issues regarding Power Quality?
Poor power quality is becoming one of the most serious issues in industrial facilities and one of the most untapped areas of cost reduction and economic advantage. Poor power quality and utilization problems are common in most factories, ultimately causing machinery and component failure as well as the loss of production. Properly addressing power quality issues is the largest cost reduction opportunity in the plastics industry today. Therefore it is high time the utilities address this issue and gather Power Quality data where measurements of power quality variables are stored and analyzed periodically (at least once in two years)to take precautionary action in order to maintain the supply voltage quality in both supply and demand side.
Our product has a proven record in the utilities around the globe:
• First monitor that combines (in one device) IEC 61000-4-30 Class A power quality, digital fault recording and energy metering (to double-check billing meter)
• Continuous recording of up to 1014 parameters (min, max, avg) for 10 minute intervals (frequency in 10 seconds, Plt 2 hours, harmonic reports in 3-second intervals)
• Continuous recording of up to 256 parameters (min, max, avg) for customized time interval (1 min – 24 hours)
• Triggered recordings for sags/dips, swells, interruptions, rapid voltage changes and triggers on other power quality parameters that exceeded predefined thresholds
• Many power quality monitoring devices are only designed to connect to the metering CT. The INFORMA PMD-A can also be connected to the protection CT.
